Westminster Hotel has gone "green!" Our environmentally friendly program includes:
Major works of art are located throughout the lobby and public areas of our hotel. The focal point of the lobby is a painting by Scott Hole entitled Hugs and Kisses. The painting features bold Xs and Os in fanciful abstraction. In addition, several acrylic, ink and collage-on-paper abstractions hang throughout the public space.
Unique art pieces that emulate lighting fixtures hang above the front desk. The innovative German designer, Ingo Maurer, uses holographic technology to create Wo Bist Du, Edison?, the image of a light bulb floating in space. If you look closely, you can see a fly sitting on the side of the bulb, and, embedded in the bulb itself, is the image of Thomas Edison.
Walter Koessler's September Sunrise and September Sunset create interest and tranquility in our elevators located off the lobby. The elevator located in the Westminster Club building features the work of laminate artist Paul Laster. History and modernism merge in this dramatic piece, entitled Dateline.
